Amrita Tandon is a contemporary artist based in Hong Kong. The inspiration and the cornerstone of her artistic practice is the subtle expressive beauty of nature. The subjective and interpretive character of the images are fundamental to her art. Her work is built on observation, experience, emotions and sensorial memories emerging from a deep attachment and love of the natural environment.
Her work is often metaphorical, rather than specifically representational. She wants it to be reinterpreted through the stories and personal experiences of the audience. Her paintings are created by delving into memories, places and occurrences which mark her continuing journey, each inspired by a childhood memory, a recalled feeling or a momentary stop in her nomadic life.
